Truth Be Told ~ (An Apple TV original series)

Wednesday, January 25, 2023 9:14 PM Cold and rainy evening Truth Be Told is this series on Apple TV that aired on December of 2019. I didn't come across it until November 2022. I absolutely love this show. I admire the great, Octavia Spencer! She is totally fabulous in this, as she is in all her projects. I loved her in Spirited as well, but that's another topic for later. Octavia plays the roll of a true crime podcaster named Poppy Parnell. She co-stars with Hanefah Wood and and Tracie Thomas as her sisters. Michael Beach plays her husand, Ingram Parnell. Ron Cephas Jones plays Leander Scoville, the cool biker dad that owns a bar. Tami Roman plays the fabulous younger wife of Leander Scoville. Of course she doesn't disappoint, she's just as sassy and straight up as always. Mekhi Phifer plays Marcus Knox, the smart ex-boyfriend of Poppy's and ex-cop who she can always call on for help. The lovely Merle Dandridge plays Zarina Killebrew, Marcus Knox's ex-wife who has a teenage daughter with him. Season 1, Poppy was doing her podcast about a true crime from a few years back that she podcasted about. Some new evidence came about that shows possibility that the imprisoned suspect was not the killer at all. Poppy is determined to get to the truth by any means necessary. Season 2 was great as well! Kate Hudson stars as Micah Keith, childhood friend of Poppy's. Micah was a slick one, she stole a young, black girl's book and made it her own. She got rich off it and perpatrated a fraud. Micah's husband gets murdered by someone she knows. Micah continues to lie to Poppy after someone attacks her at Micah's house. It was a mess! Check it out for yourself! I am about to partake in Season 3, starring Gabrielle Union-Wade as Eva. Poppy is now divorced and she takes on the Scoville name. This episode is about missing young black girls in Oakland, California and how the Police aren't doing a thing to find them. Grabbing my Ginger Ale, popcorn and remote now. I hope you check out the show! Truth Be Told.. it's a good show! Now head over to Apple TV and watch it! Octavia, keep up the excellent Black Girl Magic that you do! Love it! Tamika Davis

The Little Princess

Last night I watched “The Little Princess” with my girls, we love Shirley Temple! I mostly enjoy classic movies myself and I am introducing my girls to them more and more. This day and age you really can’t find to many programs on television that you can watch with your kids. Family shows with respect and family values are scarce. It was nice watching a great movie that didn’t have nudity and profanity and sex scenes.

My Fair Lady

I just finished watching "My Fair Lady" where Audrey Hepburn does a superb job, yet again! She never disappoints, love how she takes a hold of a roll and just does it to a tee! She was a great actress and a caring human being. Kudos Audrey! XOXO I have watched this movie about 3 to 4 times already. I have watched her in War And Peace about three times in 2016. Both movies were a bit on a lengthy side but I didn't mind.

Good night!
God bless!!

This morning I watched Grease live with my daughter as we ate breakfast.  Grease is a great classic movie but I was looking forward to this particular showing. We love Keke Palmer and Grease so it was a great combo. Kudos to Keke as Marty and Vanessa as Rizzo. I will re-watch both Grease and Grease live this weekend.

Christmas Movies...Hallmark Channel

December 2, 2015                                           11:44 A.M.

I am really enjoying all the Christmas movies that started coming on television since Thanksgiving. Hallmark Channel is one of the main channels that brings great holiday movies. Then other channels bring on the classic kids holiday movies like: Rudolph, Frosty The Snowman, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Home Alone and more. It's a great time of the year for families to spend quality sofa time together. Happy Holidays and enjoy!!

God bless!!!

Funny Girl

This morning I watched "Funny Girl" for like the 50th time! I love Barbra Streisand movies! I really enjoy the classic movies more so than some of the things that are on the silver screen these days. The great Audrey Hepburn, God rest her soul is another actress I love to watch often. Paris When It Sizzles, Funny Face, Breakfast At Tiffany's, War & Peace, Roman Holiday, How To Steal A million, Charade, Sabrina and more!
Imitation of Life is a great film, it's heartbreaking the way Sarah Jane treated her mother Annie, played by the beautiful Juanita Moore.  The other day I watched "It's A Wonderful Life" for the first time. It wasn't what I thought it would be but I have to watch it again to see if I like it or not. Had to pause it a few times to deal with the baby. Looking forward to enjoy more great classic movies during the holidays. Until then, have a great night and keep watching wonderful movies.

God bless!!!!
